As my kids continue to grow, their palates are changing and diversifying. While we can typically find “something for everyone” at nearly any restaurant here in Orange County, we are really enjoying the local food halls that continue to pop up all over the city. Mess Hall Market recently opened at Flight at Tustin Legacy, featuring 10 diverse, eclectic food offerings.

Mess Hall Market
Mess Hall Market spans 12,000 square feet and features some of the most diverse restaurants in Orange County. You could enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, or Happy Hour indoors or outdoors, or all of the above. Featured restaurants include the following:
The Lost Bean: The organic coffee, tea & juice shop is curated by Bodie Rasmussen and is the third location in the area. Of note, The Lost Bean is committed to a sustainable model of consumption and donates 30 percent of the company’s profits to non-political charity foundations that support the company’s mission to promote education, health, and the environment.
Big Parm
Slapfish: Seafood expert Andrew Gruel turned his popular food truck into a popular seafood restaurant, now with a location at the market.
Fowl Play
Drink Bar: Danny Godinez designs and operates the full-service bar that offers wine, beer and hand-crafted cocktails.
Vaka Burger: Chef Aaron J. Perez is the mastermind behind the famed establishment known for its grass-fed burgers and duck-confit grilled cheese. Food truck-turned foodie haven, this is Vaka’s first Orange County location.
Fonda Moderna: Danny Godinez is the chef behind Anepalco and Fonda Moderna, a Mexican restaurant that combines traditional Mexican ingredients with French cooking techniques.
Sandwich Society: This foodie-sandwich destination offers unique sandwiches, fresh salads, and soups and was founded by Mi Ho, a self-proclaimed sandwich aficionado who built a loyal following among sandwich-lovers.
Saigon Kitchen: Laguna Beach-based eatery Another Kind Cafe is serving Vietnamese-inspired crossed-cultural cuisine at the market.
The Little Greek: Rasmussen also opened the new concept restaurant, featuring authentic Greek street food.
I really enjoy trying new foods, and Mess Hall Market is a good mix of culture and local street fair. From Greek street food and lobster rolls, to Mexican-French fusion cuisine and home-style Vietnamese dishes, Mess Hall Market is a destination we could back to over and over again for a new culinary experience.
The space is casual and family-friendly, but offers a unique bar area where the hand-crafted cocktails set the bar very high. The quality if the food is impeccable, and the space will continue to grow as additional tenants join Mess Hall Market.
Mess Hall Market is located at Flight at Tustin Legacy in Tustin, California, adjacent to the Tustin Legacy Park. This indoor-outdoor experience features 26 acres of trails and open space as the market’s backyard. Visit their website for more information.
