Underwear. We all wear them (at least I hope we do). And to be quite honest, I don’t think much about them. Unless they’re dingy or torn or in dire need of replacing. And my husband? Well, I don’t remember the last time he bought underwear. Oh wait. He doesn’t buy underwear. I do! I guess we know who wears the “pants” in this family. : )
All joking aside, shopping for underwear isn’t something I’d normally blog about. It seems a bit mundane. How difficult can it be? Boxers v. briefs. End of story. But when I learned that Mario Lopez had launched a brand new line of men’s underwear, I was intrigued. For years I’ve been trying to get my husband to convert from boxers to boxer/briefs and if Mario Lopez can wear them, maybe that would up the cool factor.
When it comes to fashion, my husband isn’t overly particular, but a switch from boxers to boxer/briefs is a big leap. I am not a man, so I can’t honestly say how different the wear is between the two styles, but according to my husband, there is an adjustment period.
MALO by Mario Lopez is Target’s s new line of men’s underwear, T-shirts, and tanks. The line was created by Lopez, who aspired to transform men’s underwear by introducing on-trend colors and patterns. Check out this two-pack of trunks we received in the Vulture pattern:
The trunks and briefs are a cotton/spandex blend which allow for stretch, comfort, and breathability. According to my husband, they are a snug fit but easier to get accustomed to than briefs (both in style and wear). He liked the style, fit, and look of the trunks and can see some particular circumstances where a snug fit might be beneficial (aka at the gym). He is definitely open to getting more of these but still maintains that he would interchange them with his traditional boxers.
Earlier this year, Mario Lopez introduced Rated M, a higher end line of undergarments. I really like MALO’s price point, as a 2-pack of briefs or trunks retails for just $12.99.
You can check out the entire selection of styles at Target. And for more information visit the brand on Twitter/Facebook.
