I like to sleep….alot! This usually results in repeated swings at the alarm clock, set 15 minutes ahead of the actual time I need to wake up. Perhaps it is mostly psychological but those last 15 minutes are the absolute best! Combine that with my almost inexcusable tendency to run late and the end result is a frazzled mommy scurrying to get out of the house most mornings.
I wish I could tell you that I’ve come up with some grandiose plan to reduce the mayhem, but sadly I have not. I’ve tried setting my clocks for different times. This does me know good since I know that my alarm clock is set 20 minutes ahead of time, my car and microwave clock are set 2 minutes ahead, and my phone is the actual time…and I account for all of them. What it does do is frustrate my husband to no end! I try to do as much as I can the night before to reduce the amount of time I spend packing my son’s stuff and looking for things I need for that particular day. I’ve learned that I get sidetracked easily and get involved in things I think I have time for (i.e. checking email, throwing in a last minute load of laundry, etc.). When I have my husband’s assistance we divvy up the tasks and he keeps me on the right track.
