Make Your Own My Little Pony at Build-A-Bear Workshop

Posted by Caryn Bailey 1 Comment

Build-A-Bear WorkshopSpring always inspires me to get creative!  I’ve been undertaking several baking and DIY projects and have had the urge to do a ton of Spring Cleaning!  During my survey of our children’s toys, I asked if we could give some of our stuffed animals to some local friends in need.  My children readily picked out several stuffed toys to give away, but they held on tightly to their Build-A-Bear friends.  My children have such special memories from our experiences at Build-A-Bear Workshop.  From our Christmas Moose Holly and Hal to my son’s Friendosaur, built at Downtown Disney Walt Disney World, these animal friends hold a special place in their hearts.

When we first learned that Hasbro and Build-A-Bear Workshop were partnering so children could build their own Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash, we were thrilled.  I grew up watching the show and playing with the ponies, and my daughter has become a huge fan of the new show on The Hub.  The themes of friendship and magic are at the heart of the stories showcased in My Little Pony, and with the launch of this new partnership, children can continue these adventures at home.

This week, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie pranced into Build-A-Bear Workshops nationwide, so we visited our local store to build our own pony. At present, families can choose from Pinkie Pie or Rainbow Dash, and then dress them in an array of proper pony fashions including a signature cape, a skirt outfit, a Knight costume, and more.  Additionally, the My Little Pony theme song can be added to any stuffed animal at Build-A-Bear Workshop.

My daughter chose Pinkie Pie, then got to work stuffing her pony.

She placed a special heart inside Pinkie Pie, closed her up, and then gave her a bit of fluffing.

One of the things we love about Build-A-Bear Workshop is the ability to personalize these special stuffed friends.  In addition to picking out clothing and shoes, my children have loved giving them a name and then receiving their “birth certificate.”

The ponies themselves are authentic and feature bright, colorful manes that can be brushed, combed, and braided with Build-A-Bear Workshop’s exclusive My Little Pony hairbrush.

If you happen to stop by your local store this week, there will be several special events happening to celebrate the launch of My Little Pony at Build-A-Bear Workshop. Families can take a pony personality quiz, recite the pony promise, learn how to style their pony’s hair, and more.

While families can definitely build their own ponies online, I highly recommend going into a local store if you’re able because the experience is priceless.

No compensation was received for this post. We received a gift card to purchase a My Little Pony from Build-A-Bear Workshop.

Oh dear. My hubby and son are Bronies and I think they may have just found a use for some gift cards I have squirreled away from Build-a-Bear.
