Every year, I make a commitment to do better…to eat more foods that grow on trees or in the ground…to cook as opposed to eating out…to simplify our eating habits so that we’re healthier. While we’re definitely committed to eating this way, there is always room for improvement.
Last week, Frigidaire and Jennifer Garner joined families at a local farm in New York to kick off the Summer Session of their Kids’ Cooking Academy. On the site, you’ll find tips, videos, and recipes for enjoying meals created with fresh-picked ingredients.
This summer Frigidaire wants you to commit to eating fresh. Through the company’s continued partnership with Save the Children, they will donate $1 when you check in to your local farmer’s market on Gowalla (or commit to eating fresh on their website). We are very fortunate to live in an area where a farmer’s market is accessible. As my son gets older, I want to show him the process of getting food from the farm to the table (we exposed him to that a little when we visited Tanaka Farms last year).
While you’re on the site, be sure to enter to win a new Frigidaire Gallery French Door Refrigerator. The refrigerator features Effortless Glide Crisper Drawers that keep your seasonal fruits and veggies fresh and easily accessible, a PureAir Ultra Filter to keep the air in the refrigerator clean and fresh, and Fits-More Capacity which offers more usable space inside, same space on the outside, so you can find a place for everything.
