A couple of weeks ago, I spent an afternoon learning about proper car seat installation while a Child Passenger Safety Technician checked and proceeded to re-install my children’s car seats correctly. Car seat safety is one of those topics I think about often. Living in Southern California, we drive a lot and a properly installed car seat with a demonstrated safety record is important to me as a mom.
Recently, the American Academy of Pediatrics revised it’s recommendations on Child Passenger Safety. The new statement increased the minimum age that a child should ride rear-facing in a car seat from 1 to 2 years old and advised that children should remain in the rear seat until they reach 13 years old (previous statements advised 12 years old). Graco recently released the SnugRide Click Connect 40, the first and only newborn to two-year infant car seat that grows with your baby from four pounds to 40 pounds.
To celebrate the release of this new car seat, which offers parents an option to keep their babies rear-facing according to the AAP’s new guidelines, Graco has partnered with Babies “R” Us and bloggers nationwide to host a series of events this weekend. I’m honored to be partnering with Graco and my local store to host an event this Saturday, October 21st at the Babies R Us, in Irvine, California. If you’re local and would like to attend, here are the details:
When: Saturday, October 21st at 1 pm and 2:30 pm
Where: Babies “R” Us 13672 Jamboree Road, Irvine, CA 92620
