Leap! Partners With Footloose to Support Dancers

Posted by Caryn Bailey 4 Comments

One day my son wants to be a paleontologist…the next an astronaut. Each of my children have dreams, and as a parent, I strive to support and encourage those interests and passions. Sometimes it is something as simple as finding a gymnastics class for my daughter, who has spent her days tumbling across my living room floor. In other instances, it means taking a leap of faith when it comes to my son’s desire to begin playing the violin…an instrument he had never seen prior to this school year. Leap ! will be released on DVD and On Demand on November 21, 2017, and I absolutely adore the film’s message about the perseverance and dedication that go hand-in-hand with pursuing one’s dreams.

This is part of a social good campaign with Bloggin’ Mamas.

Dance for a Cause

To celebrate the release of the heartwarming animated family adventure, Leap!, Lionsgate has partnered with the non-profit organization, FOOTLOOSE, to gather donations of new and gently used dance shoes to help aspiring dancers in need. On November 16th, Lionsgate will host an event where they will present FOOTLOOSE with dance shoe donations. I would love your help supporting this social good project!  If you have new or gently used dance shoes you are willing to donate, you can send them to the address below. Be sure to follow along this Thursday on social media using the hashtags #LeapMovie and #LeapForFootloose.

Donations to FOOTLOOSE can be sent to the address below:

Leap

Leap Movie

Leap! stars the voice talents of Elle Fanning (Maleficent), Nat Wolff (The Fault in Our Stars), Maddie Ziegler (The Book of Henry), Mel Brooks (Spaceballs), Carly Rae Jepsen (singer-songwriter of the hit song “Call Me Maybe”) and Kate McKinnon (“Saturday Night Live”). The film follows the story of Félicie, an orphan girl who is determined to follow her dream of becoming a ballerina. Colorful, imaginative, and heartwarming, Leap! will inspire families to pursue their own dreams.

Ballet

Eleven-year-old orphan Félicie (Fanning) has one dream — to go to Paris and become a dancer. Her best friend Victor (Wolff), who is imaginative and has a passion for creating, has a dream of his own — to become a famous inventor. In a leap of faith, Victor and Félicie leave their orphanage to pursue their passions. But there is a catch – Félicie must pretend to be the child of a wealthy family in order to gain admittance to the prestigious and competitive Opera Ballet School in Paris. With no professional dance training, she quickly learns that talent alone is not enough to overcome the ruthless, conniving attitudes of her fellow classmates, led by the devious Camille Le Haut (Ziegler). Determined to succeed, Félicie finds her mentor in the tough and mysterious school custodian, Odette (Jepsen), who, along with Victor’s encouraging friendship, help her reach for the stars. Leap! includes compelling, original music including the hit track “Cut to the Feeling” by Carly Rae Jepsen.

The release includes a behind-the-scenes video gallery and a look at stars McKinnon, Wolff, and Ziegler in the recording booth. Leap! is currently available on Digital and will be released on Blu-ray, DVD and On Demand November 21, 2017.
