Knott’s Scary Farm Celebrates 40 Years of Scary Fun – Halloween Haunt!

Posted by Caryn Bailey Leave a Comment

Shadows

Despite the 90+ weather we had that Fall September night, a dense fog moved into the area.  Something lurked within the shadows. The end of Daylight Savings was still more than a month away, yet it was eerily dark.

Boo!

The last time I spent an evening at Knott’s Scary Farm’s Halloween Haunt was during my teen years.  I remember the excitement, anticipation, and slight hesitation I felt leading up to the evening, because those same feelings coursed through me as we ate dinner at the Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel.

Terror Of London

This year the theme park celebrates it’s 40th year, and Knott’s Halloween Haunt continues to be the largest, most creative and attended Halloween event in the world.  It seems fitting that 40 years ago, Ghost Town was the hub for all-things spooky. Today, the entire park is transformed into Knott’s Scary Farm for 24 thrilling nights through Halloween.

So what can you expect this year at Halloween Haunt?

With 13 themed mazes and ride through attractions, 9 live shows, and 1,000 live monsters, ghosts, ghouls and other beasts lurking in the fog, there is plenty to scare and entertain you!

New this year is Knott’s Scary Farm’s first reservation-only interactive maze title Trapped. With no doors and no windows, you’ll have to collaborate with your teammates to find your way out.  I don’t want to give too much away, but this was actually my favorite maze at the park.  I loved the interactive nature and having to work together made it that much more exciting. While it’s definitely scary, there is a “safe word” that you can use if you truly can’t handle it at any point.  However, I highly encourage you to go through the entire experience because saying the safe word requires that your entire party leave.  I can be wimpy when it comes to things like this and I will say that there was never a time where I felt like I had to bail out. Tickets for each group are $60 and include up to 6 guests.

Trick Or Treat

Tickets for Halloween Haunt at Knott’s Scary Farm start at $36 but you can also purchase add-on tickets for quicker ride and/or maze access.  Additionally, there is a pre-scare boo-fet which offers early entry into Knott’s Scary Farm.
