Anyone who knows me in real life, knows that I am a Whole Foods junkie! It’s an off week if I’ve only frequented our local store once. As is typical of my visits, I checked the monthly calendar to see if there were any interesting events happening this month. Given that it is February, I knew I’d find at least one Valentine’s Day-themed event, and indeed I did. But what I didn’t expect to find were some awesome kid-friendly classes that teach children about food and nutrition in a fun, engaging way.
Whole Foods has a Kids Club that offers age-specific classes and activities for budding foodies! Parents can also sign their kids up for a free 30 minute store tour which will introduce them to healthy eating. Each class varies by store and families can register their children online or at the Customer Service desk for a nominal fee.
This month our local store will host a Kids Club Valentine’s Day Cheese Fondue class where children will have the opportunity to make Valentines Day themed arts and crafts while parents learn to make cheese fondue. There will be opportunities for children to try a variety of fruits, veggies, and breads with the Chef’s cheesy creations. To find your local store’s Kids Club activities, just visit WholeFoods.com.
