Earlier this year, we watched as the 2012 USA Women’s Gymnastics team took the gold medal in London. How I dreamed about seeing Jordyn Wieber and Gabby Douglas perform live! As a little girl, I tumbled and danced in a gymnastics class and it’s always been my favorite Olympic sport.
If you are a fan of gymnastics, you’ll want to see if the 2012 Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions will be stopping in your city. You might remember that Kellogg’s was an official sponsor of the 2012 London Olympics. The tour brings the “Fierce Five” together for an encore performance along with members of the 2012 men’s Olympic team, former Olympic champions, and local gymnasts (specific to each city).
Rather than simply have the athletes perform a routine, the show is an exciting and entertaining celebration of gymnastics weaved together with dance and modern performance art. I wasn’t sure whether or not my children would like it, but the combination of children performing in the show, humor, and the beauty of the sport kept my kids’ attention focused on the performers. We absolutely loved the show and were so excited that we were able to see our favorite gymnasts in an encore performance.
