“Have you ever felt like you were meant for something more?”
If you have a passion or talent that you went on to pursue, you’ll likely connect with 20th Century Fox’s latest film release titled Chasing Mavericks. The film details the inspirational true story of surfing legend Jay Moriarity.
As a 15 year old teenager, Jay discovers that the Mavericks surf break (one of the largest on the planet) is near his home in Santa Cruz. In his quest to conquer this wave, he befriends local surf legend Frost Hesson, who ends up training him. As they embark to take on this seemingly impossible feat, they form a friendship that changes both of their lives.
The film was made with the help of some of the biggest names in the surfing industry and features some of the most incredible wave footage ever captured on film.
Music is an important part of a film, serving to evoke emotion or heighten important moments. Songs from the soundtrack are available digitally now and on CD beginning November 19th. The music comes from the rock n’ roll era (90s) and features artists like Mazzy Star, The Sponge, The Lemonheads, and Matthew Sweet.
Chasing Mavericks is now in theaters nationwide.

Santa Cruz is one of my favorite places, for watching surfing, for sitting at the beach, for playing at the boardwalk with the kids. This movie will be fun!

sounds like a really good family movie
I enjoyed the movie! I do not understand why it got so many negative reviews. Sometimes It is not about the amount of action or climax but the story itself. The movie was about learning to surf the big ways and that is why it was largely about the training itself. It was great, in my opinion anyways.
