iCapture: LEGO Star Wars Miniland at Legoland California Resort

Posted by Caryn Bailey 14 Comments

Over the last few months, my son has developed a fascination with LEGOS.  There aren’t many toys that will capture his attention for long periods of time.  He enjoys building and I appreciate how this activity helps with his fine motor skills and creative processing.

Over the weekend, we took him to LEGOLAND California Resort in Carlsbad, and even though we have been there a handful of times, I was still impressed with the fact that every aspect of the park has the LEGO hand upon it.  Last year, the resort introduced the first dedicated Star Wars Miniland area at the resort, which features seven of the most famous scenes from the live-action films and animated series.

The area is just stunning and authentic…down to the tiniest of details. Since we haven’t frequented the park in a few years, I’ll talk a bit about our experience in a subsequent post, but for now, here are a few photos I captured with my iPhone:

What fun! We love the Lego Star Wars series! I’ve spent hours and hours and hours putting together those 1000+ Lego sets. I finally got wise one year and would assemble them with glue so they stayed together much longer and allowed the kids to play with them!

That’s pretty impressive. My daughter and her friends are down that way this week and were debating about Legoland. I’ll have to tell them to go.

I have to try the glue trick! We have not been to Legoland in ages. We’re overdue for a trip back particularly now that both my boys are prime lego age and such fans.
