I was immediately drawn to Jeremy Camp’s powerful songs of faith and hope as a young woman. His talent as a musician is unrivaled, and yet, it is the lyrics that speak to me deeply. And even before I heard his story, I felt his songs were written out of sorrow…questions…and a deep faith. The singer/songwriter shared the story of his first wife Melissa during a performance at Fishfest some years ago. I remember thinking about the anguish he experienced at such a young age, and the authenticity of the words he sung moved me. I managed to sneak in one last film before our nationwide shutdown. I Still Believe is the poignant story of Camp’s journey through love and loss, and is now available on Demand via Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, and cable providers. You can own the film on Blu-ray and DVD May 5th.

I Still Believe
Jeremy Camp wrote the song I Still Believe after the death of his first wife, Melissa Camp. Camp met Melissa in college, and shortly afterwards, the couple found out that she had ovarian cancer. Despite the terminal nature of her illness, Camp married Melissa…she died less than four months after their wedding.
One of Camp’s well-known songs is Walk By Faith. He wrote the song during their honeymoon. “I will walk by faith, even when I cannot see.” Those words are gripping. And while their love story is beautiful and tragic, it is also filled with hope. Camp has been telling the story of Melissa for years, and many have come to faith in Christ because of his testimony.
Camp’s journey of love and loss demonstrates that there is always hope in the midst of tragedy.
