HP Is Going Green

black_stretch_logoEarth Day is April 22, and many companies are committing to provide greener products and services to help us all protect and preserve our environment.  HP is a company that has introduced new products, designed to help you convert your home and home offices into a more earth-friendly environment.  Be sure to look for the Here is a little summary about their new product line, from the company:

The HP Deskjet D2600 Printer Series is an affordable, easy-to-use, energy efficient solution that consistently delivers reliable prints for everyday projects. The printer is made of 50 percent recycled materials.  Additionally, its HP 60 ink cartridges are made from 50 percent recycled plastics as well as sources like recycled water bottles. The HP Deskjet D2600 Printer Series is also ENERGY STAR® qualified and provides a paper-saving printing option that allows customers to print on both sides of the paper. Estimated price is $49.

The included HP Smart Web Printing software allows users to select and organize text, graphics and photos from multiple web pages to print only what is needed on a single page, eliminating paper waste.

The HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One offers complete versatility for customers who need to do it all – print, copy, scan and fax. In addition to producing lab-quality photos, laser-quality documents and vivid color graphics, this device also features a duplexing automatic document feeder that allows users to print on both sides of the paper – conserving paper and saving money. The HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One provides freedom and flexibility to connect to a PC or notebook computer using multiple connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Ethernet, allowing consumers to print from virtually anywhere in the home from multiple computers. Estimated price is $299.

HP is making it even easier and more convenient for consumers to return and recycle their old HP print cartridges. HP has expanded its Planet Partners print cartridge return and recycling program to now include authorized retail recycling. Customers can recycle their print cartridges at more than 1,500 retail locations and at Staples receive $3 back in Staples rewards; or they can visit www.hp.com/recycle to be sent free, postage-paid return options. HP has also implemented steps to increase transportation efficiency and reduce shipping materials by more than 600,000 pounds.

Snapfish

At Snapfish.com, consumers can use their photos to create keepsakes that reduce the number of paper coffee cups they use and can jazz up their morning cup of Joe.  The stainless steel commuter mug is durable and spill-proof – perfect for the morning haul to work.  The collage mug can be personalized with up to 15 photos, 14 colors and even captions and works great for getting a morning jolt at your work desk or snuggling up with a cup of tea.  Available for $14.99 and up.

The new Snapfish Snapshow enables users to create multimedia photo montages combining photos, artwork, animation and music to tell their stories in just a few clicks – saving paper by allowing users to e-mail their photos with a creative touch. Snapshow features a variety of themes and music selections to help users showcase their photos from birthdays, holidays, vacations – even every day photos – bringing the slideshow alive in a uniquely personal way for FREE!

HP Creative Studio

To help families celebrate Earth Day with little changes that begin at home, HP launched the new Eco Kid Kits on HP’s Creative Studio. These fun, printable projects for kids are perfect reminders about how to conserve energy around the home, including running water, dishwasher/laundry, light switch covers and garbage can signs. Customers will also enjoy beautiful and easy-to-customize printables featuring stunning expeditions from award-winning photographer and environmental advocate, Sebastian Copeland, on the HP Creative Studio. There is also a calendar template for creating an easy, personalized gift that helps spread the word about Young Ambassadors of the Arctic, an initiative established by Copeland, Luc Hardy, and Global Green USA to increase public awareness of climate change by getting children involved in critical environmental issues that endanger the Arctic region.

Small Business

Looking to create a more earth-friendly workplace? HP has introduced products that are designed to enable small businesses to take advantage of the following affordable and easy-to-implement tips that will help business owners:

o Use up to 40 percent less energy and materials;

o Save up to 25 percent on paper expenses;

o Combine multiple web pages onto one page to conserve ink and paper; and

o Learn how to conveniently and properly recycle used print cartridges and hardware.

The Staples EcoEasy Edition family is a line of environmentally-friendly HP inkjet and laser printers designed for small businesses. The HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-in-One Staples EcoEasy Edition ($399) offers 50 percent less cost per page and energy use than competitive laser printers, as well as eco-friendly features including automatic two-sided printing, a junk fax blocker, fax to network folder/email and PC Fax Send.
