How You Can Help Earn Money For Your Child’s School

Posted by Caryn Bailey Leave a Comment

This particular summer has been very special for our kids because in the Fall, my son will start Kindergarten. We’ve been very excited about the brand new school year, and to help my son with the transition, we’ve been purposeful about approaching it from a very positive perspective. We want him to have a deep love for learning and we want him to succeed.  When my husband and I were deciding on schools, we agreed that our designated public school was an excellent place to begin his academics.
As you’re well aware, a number of public (and interestingly enough private) schools across the country are hurting financially. There are many easy, almost effortless ways to make a huge difference for your local school including Box Tops for Education, Labels for Education, and Scholastic/Kellogg’s Free Book Program.

Box Tops for Education

One of the largest and longstanding School Support Programs is Box Tops for Education. Through their partnership with over 100,000 schools, they’ve donated $500 million.  To participate,  simply purchase the foods and items you regularly consume/use, and cut off the Box Tops which can be found on hundreds of General Mills products.  Each box top can be redeemed by the school for $0.10, but right now, Walmart is offering over 100 exclusive products containing 2 to 4 box tops which offer twice to four times the amount of money donated to schools. To find out which products contain the extra Box Tops and to claim your free Box Tops, visit Walmart’s Facebook app here.

Labels For EducationWhile I was very familiar with Box Tops, I hadn’t heard about Labels for Education until recently, which is actually the oldest School Support Program. Similar to Box Tops, you simply take the labels off of select Campbell’s products to your local school to redeem for school equipment. During the back to school season, Walmart is offering select products with bonus points on the labels from both Campbell’s and Dannon.

The last program involves a partnership between Kellogg’s and Scholastic and is exclusive to Walmart.  Simply purchase two specially marked Kellogg’s products or one Tri-Pack at Walmart and you’ll receive a coupon for a free Scholastic book of your choice.  If you like Walmart on Facebook, you’ll receive one free code!

Remember that you’ll have to register on all 3 sites but registration is free.

Supporting your local school is easy and practically effortless with these 3 programs. And, if you visit Walmart during the back-to-school season, you’ll have an opportunity to maximize the amount of money you can earn for your local school.

Disclosure:  I participate in the Walmart Moms program and am compensated for my time and honest opinions.
