We have been very blessed this year, despite the fact that it’s been a stretch for us financially with me being out of work for so long due to the pregnancy. This year, we’re planning on giving much of the items we have here in our home to neighbors, family members, and a community play group. I don’t want my son to grow up thinking that it’s all about the “stuff,” so my husband and I have been growing through our spare room, figuring out who to give spare items to. Some will be gifts, others will be donations to a play group that is collecting toys, clothes, etc. for children in need.
Robeez (the children’s shoe company) is also giving back this season. For every pair of Robeez Soft Sole shoes sold, Stride Rite will donate a pair to K.I.D.S. (Kids in Distressed Situations) through the 23rd of December. Look how cute these shoes are…The Robeez Soft Soles Classic MJ Flowers retail for $28.95 and would look adorable on our baby girl. Here is a little more information about K.I.D.S. from the site:
K.I.D.S brings hope and self-esteem to children in need and their families by providing new clothes, shoes, toys, furniture, books and juvenile products donated by leading manufacturers and retailers. The donations move through their network of community social service agencies in the U.S. and abroad to reach children who are ill, living in poverty, or are the victims of natural disasters.

Those are the cutest shoes, and what a great thing they are doing! We always had our boys go through their toys and stuffed animals before the holidays, and whatever they no longer played with and was still in good condition, we had them donate. It really did make them feel good, and they grew up always helping those less fortunate in their every day lives.
We also always give to the Marines’ Toys for Tots each year, and always make it a family trip when we drop off the new toys. It really does make you feel better, even if you are struggling.
Thanks so much for sharing.
