When I was a little girl, my mother used to take me to the Sanrio store at our local mall to shop for all of the Hello Kitty things. Born in the suburbs of London, the iconic character was a favorite of mine because of her affinity for baking and making new friends. My daughter was first introduced to Hello Kitty as a toddler and has also joined the group of global fans. We are regulars at the Hello Kitty Cafe in Irvine, and with Tanaka Farms‘ latest announcement of their partnership with Sanrio, visits to the authentic working farm are about to become more frequent.
Hello Kitty Pumpkin Patch
Hello Kitty and her friends will make their debut at the Pumpkin Patch this year and appear regularly throughout the farm. Throughout the season, Tanaka Farms will host educational seminars and the Sanrio Characters will serve as educational ambassadors. You will also find Hello Kitty and her friends at various events throughout the year including the strawberry, melon, and pumpkin seasons. Be sure to stop by the market before you leave for limited edition Tanaka Farms – Sanrio merchandise.
Pumpkin patch activities including a ride on the wagon, a visit to the petting zoo, a walk through the corn maze, pick your own fresh vegetables and a chance to shoot the pumpkin Cannon. Tanaka Farms will also host their Fall Festival every weekend throughout the season with games, crafts, ATV rides, face-painting, and more. You can also stop by the Grill Shack to fuel up with a snack or quench your thirst.
The pumpkin patch is self-guided and you are free to walk through the pumpkins, take photos, and run through the corn maze. Admission is $3 and there is an additional fee for the wagon ride ($6), the petting zoo ($3) and the U-Pick veggie patch. The Pumpkin Patch will open for the season on September 29th, 2017 and run daily through October 31st, 2017. Hours are 9 am to 6 pm.
Free Wagon Rides Opening Weekend
Tanaka Farms will offer free wagon rides for all guests during opening weekend (September 29 – October 1, 2017).
Sanrio Events at Tanaka Farms
On September 30th, Hello Kitty and her friends will make a special appearance for photo opps.
On October 28th, Sanrio will host a Halloween Costume Contest.
*Tip* I highly recommend visiting early in the season for the best pumpkin selection and a less crowded experience.
