Celebrating Families and Join the Healthy Essential’s #LaFamiliaDeHoy Twitter Party

Despite the flaws and imperfections that characterize most families, I grew up with a sense of togetherness and the security of my parents love for me and each other.  With that strong sense of the importance of family, I knew that I wanted to forage that type of inseparable bond with my children.  We’re a blended family with a busy, often chaotic schedule, but our love is deep, our bond strong.

Last Fall, Johnson and Johnson, in partnership with Univision, set out to find LA FAMILIA DE HOY…today’s modern family. After narrowing their search, they’ve finally announced the Jiménez family as LA FAMILIA DE HOY. This modern, active, multicultural family of 5 values their relationship with their extended family members, who live close enough to share regular moments of togetherness.  Their lives are intricately woven together through weekend BBQ’s, soccer games, and family gatherings.  The Jimenez family’s commitment to passing on their culture’s traditional values and Hispanic roots is evident in their shared experiences and proximity to each other. Juan and Biviana share both Mexican and Columbian backgrounds and it is his leading that ensures his children grow up absorbing the knowledge from their mother and grandmother about making the right choices, particularly when it comes to taking care of each other as a family.
