Three years ago, Marvel’s The Avengers, left audiences asking many questions, presuming that a sequel was in the making. This weekend, our personal hope is that Marvel will continue to peel back the layers on this epic sequel and the 11th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Avengers: Age of Ultron debuts in theaters this weekend and follows the story of America’s most iconic and legendary superheroes.
Starring Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk and Chris Evans as Captain America, this team of heroes must re-assemble when Tony Stark’s attempt to jumpstart a dormant peacemaking program goes awry. Together with Black Widow, Hawkeye, War Machine/James Rhodes, Agent Maria Hill, Erik Selvig and Nick Fury, The Avengers assemble to defeat Ultron, a technological villain determined to realize human extinction. With the fate of the planet at risk, the Avengers must stop Ultron from realizing his plans in this epic, action-packed sequel.
To celebrate the release of the film, Hasbro debuted a brand new toy line featuring electronic action figures, role-play items and playsets. Both of my kids love to engage in imaginative play, but I was particularly surprise at how excited my daughter was to be “an Avenger!” We received MARVEL’S AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON IRON MAN ARC FX ARMOR, MARVEL’S AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON HULK GAMMA GRIP FISTS, MARVEL’S AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON CAPTAIN AMERICA STAR LAUNCH SHIELD, MARVEL’S AVENGERS: THOR Battle Hammer, and MARVEL’S AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON HERO MASK. Almost immediately, each of my kids picked out which character they wanted to “be” and the results were interesting. My son’s favorite Avenger is Iron Man, so he took up the gloves, which feature a light-up repulsor, and immediately began pretending he was the brilliant electromechanical suit-wearing superhero. I was intrigued that my daughter knows who Captain America is and more surprised that she picked up his iconic “A” mask and disk-launching shield, running around saying she was the iconic soldier and leader of the Avengers. Both of my kids insisted on wearing their masks and bringing the toys to the theater when we saw the film and I have to say I have the 2 cutest, newest Avengers!
Hasbro’s new Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron toy line features authentic-looking role-play toys inspired by the film. We like that the masks are reminiscent of each character. For example, the Thor mask offers a glow-in-the-dark component and Hulk’s mask displays his signature menacing scowl. Many of the toys are replicas of the iconic superheroes’ weapons including Thor’s Battle Hammer which kids can pretend to battle with. I’ve also seen my kids mixing and matching the toys as they recreate scenes from the film and invent their own epic superhero scenes. Overall, I appreciate that these superheroes are always fighting for good which is an important message to communicate to kids.
With Summer just a few weeks away, role play toys are idea for getting kids outdoors. With Hasbro’s Marvel Avenger’s Age of Ultron toys, kids can unleash their inner super hero and use their imagination to play in new and exciting ways.
Just in time for the debut of the film and the launch of this new toy line, Hasbro is debuting the first-ever Spanish language Marvel toy ad! I invite you to watch with your family and be inspired to engage in role play with your own kids.
To continue all of the action-packed fun at home once you’ve seen the film, here are a few Marvel’s Avengers Age of Ultron Printables to download.
