I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers – L. M. Montgomery. In true Fall fashion, we kicked off the season with apple picking, a visit to our local pumpkin patch, and cooking up the spookiest eats and treats. This year’s Halloween celebration is decidedly different, but I am determined to make memorable for my kids. Food is such an integral part of our family celebrations, so I decided to showcase some easy Halloween recipes you can serve for your socially-distanced celebration.

Pumpkin Cheese Ball Recipe
Our Halloween celebration will be simple this year. We plan to watch some spooky movies while gnoshing on our favorite spooky eats and treats. One of the dishes we plan to indulge in is a festive Pumpkin Cheese Ball. This recipe is easy to make and simply requires a bit of prep so the Pumpkin Cheese Ball has time to set.
- 16 ounces cream cheese
- 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
- 1/4 cup chives diced
- 1 bell pepper with a long stem
- 1 cup cheese crackers
-
Use a food processor to process cheese crackers until finely ground.
-
Combine the cream cheese with cheddar cheese and chives.
-
Mold the mixture into a ball and flatten to resemble the shape of a pumpkin. Place in plastic wrap and chill for 2 hours.
-
Carefully roll the cheese ball in the cheese crackers.
-
Top the cheese ball with the stem of a green bell pepper.
-
Use a clean piece of yarn to create 4 pumpkin indentations, starting from the top down to the bottom.
-
Serve your pumpkin cheese ball with crackers, chips, or fresh vegetables.
