Over the weekend, we began a new tradition in our family…a ride on a real, working train to visit Santa! In the weeks leading up to our Holiday adventure, I tried to keep it a secret, but as the excitement continued to build, I finally told my kids the day we left LA that we would be heading up to “Christmas Town!” From the moment my kids learned they would be meeting Santa, they began writing out their Wish Lists to give to him.
Perfectly timed for our getaway, Hallmark sent over some products from their Northpole line, which was designed to connect kids to Santa’s magical city and grow excitement for Christmas. As soon as we settled in our hotel room, each of my kids wrote out their Wish Lists to give to Santa using the Northpole Magic Mail Stationary from Hallmark. Utilizing revealing magic ink, the lists and letters show hidden messages from Santa, Mrs. Claus, Moxy the Elf, and Zipsy the Reindeer Trainer. These messages include questions that children can respond to, providing an engaging, magical experience. Once kids have written out their lists and letters, they simply place them somewhere cold (after all, Santa lives in the North Pole!) and wait for their magical message to appear. My kids were absolutely fascinated by their magical messages and the conversations they had about Santa, Mrs. Claus and their helpers was absolutely delightful and was the perfect depiction of this spirit of Christmas.
Kids love the idea of communicating with Santa, particularly because the phenomenon is very mysterious and magical. Hallmark’s Northpole Communicator Interactive Microphone keeps kids connected to the happenings of one of the chilliest place on Earth. Beginning December 1st, kids can “dial” in to the Northpole and chat with Santa and his elves through Christmas. Parents can also purchase Northpole Minutes for kids looking to keep connected throughout the year.
One of the things my kids love to do is talk to each other about whether they’ve been naughty or nice. Their conversations are often very amusing and it’s this time of year that I see them working really hard on their behavior because they are so concerned about making sure Santa visits our home. With Hallmark’s Find Me, Santa! Snowflake, kids can add their name and then hang the lighted snowflake in the window to ensure Santa finds them. Just bring it with you if you’re traveling or visiting family, and on Christmas Eve, the snowflake will glow for four hours until Santa arrives.
To continue the magic of Christmas and delight children with information about the magic of the Northpole, Hallmark introduced Nighty-Night Northpole, a hardcover book that details the story of the bedtime traditions that take place at the Northpole. This beautiful, interactive book affords children the ability to turn off the lights in several Northpole scenes, concluding with the appearance of the Northern Lights above the city.
If you were to speak to my kids, they would tell you stories about the Northpole…how real and magical the place is where Santa, Mrs. Claus and his elves live. Powered by magic snowflakes created when children share Christmas togetherness with their families, Hallmark is helping to connect children to this magical place with their line of engaging books, stationary and toys this holiday season.
This season, Hallmark is bringing the magic of the Northpole to life with a brand new feature film based on the magical city inhabited by Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves. The film stars Robert Wagner as Santa and Jill St. John as Mrs. Claus who’s magical city is in trouble as people across the globe become too busy to enjoy time together. Since the Northpole is powered by the magic of happiness and togetherness, Santa and his crew wonder who will be able to save the traditions that make Christmas so special and magical. Meanwhile, single mom Chelsea (Tiffani Thiessen) is struggling to balance getting recognized at her new reporting job while helping her son Kevin (Max Charles) adjust to a new school. When Ryan begins talking about real elves and sleigh rides, Chelsea worries his imagination is out of control. Hoping to help his mom rediscover the magic of the season, Kevin enlists the help of his teacher, an elf-life girl named Clementine (Bailee Madison) and gospel singer Josephine (Candice Glover) in a story that will inspire families to remember that togetherness is what makes this season so magical.
If you live in in or around LA, I invite you to experience the magic of the season at Hallmark’s Northpole Communication Station. Held at Hollywood & Highland this weekend, kids will have an opportunity to talk to the Northpole at this larger-than-life control center. Featuring a giant Northpole city map, kids can choose to contact the Claus home, Santa’s Workshop, Snow Row and more using the Northpole Communicator. After this magical experience, you’ll be able to take home a snapshot to remember this moment.
The Northpole Communication Station will be held at Hollywood & Highland Friday December 19th from 10 am to 8 pm, Saturday December 20th, from 10 am to 8 pm and Sunday December 21st from 10 am to 8 pm.
