One of the many things I love about Disney is how the brand crosses generations. Up until just a few months ago, most of my son’s television exposure was limited to shows airing on Disney Junior. He still adores Jake and the Never Land Pirates, but I can tell that he wants shows that are more targeted towards his stage of life and I’ll often find him watching Phineas and Ferb or Gravity Falls, a new show which premiered last year on the Disney Channel.
Just a couple of weeks ago, it was announced that Gravity Falls would be renewed for a second season, the first of which just ended. The show follows the story of 12 year old Dipper and his sister Mabel who are dropped off to live with their Great Uncle Stan in Gravity Falls, Oregon. In the season finale, Gideon swindles the Mystery Shack away from Stan and Dipper, Mabel and Grunkle Stan are forced to move in with Soos and his grandmother. With Stan questioning whether or not he can take care of the twins, Mabel and Dipper are concerned their summer at Gravity Falls may come to an end so they take on Gideon and win back their home.
While new episodes of Gravity Falls won’t be on air again until the second season, fans of the show can head to their local Subway. Throughout the month of August, Subway will offer Gravity Falls-themed Fresh Fit For Kids Meals which includes a reusable bag and a Gravity Falls window decal/sticker in addition to the food. There are six promotional bags that kids can collect throughout the month-long promotion.
If you missed the show, you can still catch episodes every Friday on the Disney Channel.
