Graco Introduces It’s First Newborn to Two-Year Infant Car Seat *Giveaway*

The decision to keep my daughter rear-facing was a practical one. She has always been on the smaller side, and despite the fact that she was nearing 2, I still didn’t feel comfortable facing her forward.

Graco SnugRide Click Connect 40

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics’ new recommendations, children should remain in a rear-facing car seat until the age of 2.  Many infant car seats on the market aren’t necessarily designed to keep a child rear-facing for that duration of time, so Graco introduced their new SnugRide Click Connect 40, the only newborn to two-year infant car seat that will accommodate a child from 4 to 40 pounds.  Just like previous SnugRide models, parents can remove the seat from it’s base and use it as a carrier when their babies are small.

Graco Safety Event

Over the weekend, I hosted an in-store event at Babies R Us to introduce expectant and new parents to the car seat.  Many of the parents did not know about the AAP’s new recommendations and really liked the fact that the car seat can accommodate a child up to 40 pounds. The base of the car seat adjusts with 8 recline positions and features a kick plate so your older toddler doesn’t kick the seat. Additionally, the Simply Safe Adjust harness system makes it easy to adjust the harness and headrest as your child grows in length without having to rethread it (from personal experience, this takes a long time).

At present the car seat comes in two patterns: Moonstruck and Mena and is available exclusively at Babies R Us for $219.99.   47. the high weight limit is great. The baby carrier car seats used to only go up to 20 lbs…My children would out weight them by 4 months. Really it was a bad investment.

  74. Wow, that is a really nice care seat! I had not heard the new recommendation to face back until age two, so that is interesting and good to know. Most of the car seats won’t face back that long or if they do, they aren’t easily removable, so that is a great feature. Its also pretty cool you can buy a stroller for that specific car seat. I am very impressed with this new product.

  81. I like that it last through 2 years of age. As someone on a tight budget, it’d be nice to know that I wouldn’t have to buy anything new for 2 years.

  98. I like that it offers extended rear-facing height/weight limits with the convenience of an infant seat. I also like the kick plate.
