Anytime I’m working on an online project, cleaning my house, prepping a recipe, or braving LA traffic, I’m streaming music. I love how a simple song can lift my mood, change my perception, or serve as an inspirational distraction from something monotonous like housework or gridlock.
Traditionally, I’ve streamed music via Bluetooth through my iPhone. Anytime I would receive a call or a text message, streaming would be interrupted. The sound quality is also mediocre, even with a quality speaker.
Stream Your Favorite Jams with Google Chromecast Audio
If music is your jam, you’ll love Google Chromecast Audio. Available at Best Buy, this new tech device plugs into your speaker to stream music via WiFi. Setup is easy and took less than 5 minutes from my laptop (you can also set up the device using the Google Home app).
Once you have set up Google Chromecast Audio, you can use your smart phone, tablet, or laptop to stream your favorite music using the speakers in your home. When you visit Chromecast online, you can view the list of supported apps which include Pandora, Spotify, YouTube Music, and Google Play Music.
With Google Chromecast Audio, you can simply set up the device in one room of your home with your smart phone, tablet or laptop, and then connect your speakers. Using the multi-room function, you can group all of your Chromecast Audio devices so the same song streams on multiple speakers. This makes it easy to listen to music in multiple rooms of your home without having to move your device.
4 Reasons to Stream Music With Google Chromecast Audio
- Enjoy the highest quality sound: Because Google Chromecast Audio uses WiFi (as opposed to Bluetooth), you’ll enjoy high resolution audio through your speakers.
- Listen to music uninterrupted: Streaming music over WiFi provides for an enhanced user experience so that phone calls and notifications are not heard over the speakers.
- Control music from anywhere in your home: As long as your WiFi network is consistent throughout your home, you can control music from any room. Google Chromecast Audio does not require that the phone be adjacent to the speaker to stream music.
- Stream the same music across multiple speakers: Use the Google Home app to group multiple speakers so that the same song plays in every room of your home.
Google Chromecast Audio is available at Best Buy for $35. For more information visit Google.com/Chromecast.
