I am currently in the process of reviewing Jump Start World, an educational software program series designed to teach children critical thinking reading and math skills and individualized to the child’s grade level. The program seeks to instill confidence and excitement around learning. A complete review will be posted this week.
If you would like to win a copy of Jump Start World 1st grade, courtesy of Mom Central, please leave a comment indicating how you will use this with your child and how you promote learning with your kids. Deadline: Friday, December 7, 2007 at 10 pm PST. I’ll choose 1 winner using Random.org. The winner has 48 hours to respond. This contest is open to US residents only.
I’d like to thank Mom Central for the opportunity to review Jump Start World.

I’m first! 🙂 I’d love to win a copy of this. My daughter is in kindergarten, so this would be perfect for her. Right now, we do alot of workbooks, but alot of the stuff I find for her to do is on the internet. It’s amazing how good she is on my laptop! 🙂 Thanks for the opportunity!

My daughter is in K right now and she’s super interested in reading and writing. She’s also obsessed with my computer. This would be a terrific idea for us! She could work on the computer independently – something she has been begging me to do – and learn what she wants to learn!

My daughter is almost 4, and I’m currently doing preschool work with her at home. She’s fairly proficient with basic computer skills, and loves doing “schoolwork” on appropriate websites. She so badly wants to read, and is very interested in reading material that is too difficult for her now. I think the exposure is reason enough to let her explore harder material.
Count me in, please!

I would love to win a copy of this for my daughter who is in first grade and later for my son who will be in kindergarten next year. Both my kids are independent learners. I try to pick up on their cues and help them with whatever stage they are at. They also do a ton of “games” online. One favorite website is http://www.starfall.com which is an excellent learn to read website.

My daughter is in first grade & loves playing computer games. I only like her to do educational ones, so I’d love to win!

my nephew loves games on the computer and my sister is looking for ways to motivate him in school, he would rather be “hunting” or riding his 4 wheeler.

My daughter always wants to use the computer but we don’t have any education programs. She would have something fun to do on the couputer and be learning at the same time 🙂

My son is in first grade now and while I get workbooks (reading, mazes, word search) as I can to keep him busy after school, he always finds his way back to the computer for video games. The Jump Start program would be a great way for us to both get what we want!

Wow, what great software! I am a teacher, so my daughter reads A TON! She would LOVE this!!

My son is doing mostly 1st grade work and LOVES anything on the computer – we have mostly older versions of JumpStart and Reader Rabbit. He’d love this!

It would be wonderful to add this to our Jump Start Library. We have Pre-K and Kindergarten. My daughter loves them and we are going to pass then down to the younger one. They occupy her for hours on end some days.

I think this would supplement what my daughter is learning in school. We’re big on reading in our house.

What a great giveaway! I have four children and the youngest would love to play this computer game. She has learned from her brother and sisters.
Thanks for the giveaway!

I reviewed this program, too, and it is fantastic, even for older and younger children. My kids 12 and under found lots of things to do with it.
Please don’t enter me in the contest, I have one and am giving one away, too.

My daughter loves to read! We haven’t started any of the internet projects because she’s still too young, but I’m sure that’s a tool we will use often. She already pretends to ‘type’ on my laptop.

If I won this I’d send it to my nephew. I really think something like this would get him interested in learning.

Oh we would love to have this! My son has used Jumpstart games for a couple years now and they are just about the best educational games out there without the kids feeling to “taught to”. They think its just for fun.
We use lots of educational software and read a lot of books, and practice math and writing after school.

Sounds like a great learning tool!
I have 18 month old twins and I read to them daily, along with singing the ABC’s and other fun songs they have easily picked up.
Thank you

We don’t have any children, but I would love this for my godson, who will be entering first grade next year. His mom has started him doing “homework” which he loves, I think this would be a great way for us to bond.

I would love this! My daughter is doing kindergarten work now and likes computer games. Thanks for this giveaway.

We home school our children. This would be a great addition to their curriculum.

I have three boys and we learn best by playing. We make letters with our playdough, we make words with sponge letters in the bathtub, draw with sidewalk chalk and we sing constantly. I’d love this because this is one way my boys would have fun learning. They love getting on the computer. It’s great for Mom cause it’s a tricky way of them learning without even realizing it!

My oldest already uses the PreK Jump Start game and I would love to have this to challenge him as he gets a bit older. As for learning, we just do a lot of talking, asking questions and playing in our house. He has learned so much w/o actually sitting down and teaching him things. At his age (almost 4) I think it is the best way to teach.
