The very first time I went to fondue, it was one of those “why have I never tried this before?” types of experiences. I call it an experience because we ate for at least 2 1/2 hours and savored every last morsel. Whenever my husband asks to take me out for a special date night, I always request The Melting Pot because I relish the opportunity to sit down for a leisurely meal and have real conversations over amazing food.
For those who have yet to visit The Melting Pot, the experience is not to be missed. The menu changes periodically, but you’ll always find signature dishes including my favorite Traditional Swiss Cheese Fondue made with Gruyère and Emmenthaler Swiss cheeses, Fondue Delight (my husband’s favorite menu item) which includes filet mignon, a cold water lobster tail, all-natural chicken breast, Pacific white shrimp, and wild mushroom sacchetti, and their simple but divine Pure Dark Chocolate Fondue.
The experience begins with your choice of cheese fondue, prepared fresh at your table and served with artisan bread and seasonal vegetables. While you’re waiting for your dinner dishes to be prepped, you can enjoy one of the restaurant’s fresh salads (the California is my favorite!). The best part of the whole experience (in my opinion) is cooking the meats, fish, and vegetables prepared by your server. I absolutely love dipping them in their amazing sauces and even mixing things up a bit.
Once you’ve finished your dinner, be sure to save room for one of the restaurant’s absolutely decadent chocolate fondues served with season fruit, cakes, and brownies!
As I mentioned earlier, some menu items change. This season’s fondue features include Bourbon Bacon Cheddar Cheese Fondue, Seasoned Pork Tenderloin with Fig & Gorgonzola Sacchetti, and White Chocolate Crème Brûlée Fondue!
