Ghostbusters was one of my dad’s all-time favorite movies, and we spent a lot of time watching the original on repeat. When the original film was released in 1984, Ghostbusters became a global cultural phenomenon. With numerous accolades, the franchise has included an animated television series, video games, board games, comic books, music, and several sequels, including a reboot. Last Fall, Sony Pictures release the second sequel and the fourth film in the series, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which is now available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife

The fourth installment in the franchise takes place thirty-two years after the events of Ghostbusters II, long after the Ghostbusters have disbanded. Written by Gil Kenan & Jason Reitman, the film presents the next chapter in the Ghostbusters universe.

When Callie (Carrie Coon) moves to a small town in Oklahoma with her two kids to care for their late grandfather’s run-down farm, unusual activity begins to develop around the town. Phoebe, Callie’s daughter, enrolls in a summer science class and soon discovers that the farmhouse is haunted. Phoebe’s science teacher helps her learn more about the their connection to the original ghostbusters, her grandfather, and the secret legacy he left behind.
