“So what are you going to do on your night off?” It is the question I’m asked the most these days as a single mom. I always feel compelled to come up with something elaborate and exciting like salsa dancing or the trending sip and paint classes that transform you into Picasso (inquiring minds want to know how DO they do that?). While I’m crafting my elaborate indoor skydiving response, I’m secretly longing for a comfy pair of PJs and Netflix or a casual dinner with friends because I can count on one hand the number of hot meals I’ve consumed in the last month!
Dinner with your favorite mom friends is the theme of Momentum Pictures’ latest film Fun Mom Dinner. The comedy, which stars Toni Collette, Molly Shannon, Bridget Everett and Katie Aselton, follows the story of four moms who’s only common ground is their kids’ preschool class. When they decide to get together for a fun mom dinner, disaster ensues. This one unforgettable night is filled with mayhem (translation…sufficient Friday night comic relief). What they come to realize is that as different as these four women are, their bond transcends motherhood.
