flarePlay Offers Endless Gaming Delivered to Your TV + Special Holiday Offer

Winter break is here, which means we’re busy crafting, baking, and exploring all of the winter activities we’re blessed with here in Orange County. This time of year is special for us because we get two full weeks with our school-age son, a rarity these days. While I have plenty of activities planned, there will be some down time to relax, watch some of our favorite movies, and play games.

I grew up playing video games and I can say from experience, a lot has changed since the 80s and 90s. Nearly every year (and sometimes more often), a new system is introduced.  This season, there is a brand new gaming system on the market called flarePlay.  Affordable, easy-to-set-up, and fun for kids, this system offers seemingly endless gaming and entertainment for the entire family.

flarePlay

What is flarePlay?

flarePlay can best be compared to Netflix in that it is a video game subscription service and the games are delivered directly to your TV via WiFi.  If you own any conventional gaming system, you know that the request for a new game is endless and expensive, with some games retailing for more than $50.  flarePlay is a great option for families that enjoy gaming but don’t want to invest in a system.

flarePlay Games

Why flarePlay?

Perhaps the biggest draw for this system is the seemingly limitless access to new games. When I was a child, I remember playing through all of the levels of the few games I owned and then asking myself, now what?  This is a great option for kids who play through games, and at present, there are more than 100 games available (with more being added regularly).  Practically speaking, there is no system or discs to purchase or store which makes it a convenient way to game. flarePlay makes it easy for families to receive games since everything is available online 24/7.  There are no discs to return (or possibly damage) and there is no waiting time for new games to arrive.  Some of the games you’ll see include LEGO Batman, LEGO Harry Potter, H.A.W.X.2, Assassins Creed 2, and Rabbids Go Home.  I personally like that their are games in a variety of genres for the whole family including adventure, action, arcade, racing, sport, and even puzzles!

flarePlay Features

How do I set up flarePlay?

Once you sign up for flarePlay, you’ll receive a gameBundle which includes a microconsole and a game controller.  Simply plug it into your TV and connect to your home Wi-Fi. One thing I will mention is that if you have an older TV without an HDMI connection (like the one we have upstairs), you won’t be able to use flarePlay.

Once your account is set-up online, you can begin playing. The game controller you’ll receive is much like the ones used with other gaming systems so kids should be able to learn how to use it easily.

How much does flarePlay cost?

The microconsole you’ll need to play retails for $99 and service is just $9.99 per month.
