My children are at this awesome age where they still believe in Santa and all of the wonderment surrounding Christmas. I love this time of year because work slows down and we’re afforded more time to spend together as a family.
One of our favorite traditions since moving to the OC is riding the Christmas Train to see Santa at Irvine Park Railroad. As the sun sets, the park is lit up with sparkling lights, guiding families to the North Pole for visits and photos with Santa.
Once families have completed their visit, they can ride the train back through the “Tunnel of Lights” to Santa’s Village for a variety of holiday activities including story time with Mrs. Claus, cookie decorating, carnival games, and more.
The Christmas Train operates through December 23rd, and specific times can be found on their website. Tickets to visit Santa are $10 and each activity ticket is $4. I highly recommend purchasing a book of activity tickets which will save you $10.
