Throughout the Spring and Summer, I tend to opt for vibrant colors throughout my wardrobe and in my makeup. It isn’t uncommon for me to wear patterns and prints while sporting pastel shades on my eyes and lips. Even my hair, which is never the same color throughout the year, is sun-kissed and “light” throughout the summer months.
As nature proclaims the changing seasons, I thought it might be time to transition to warmer, richer, deeper colors. For the first time this year, I opted for a dark brunette look with more subtle highlights, which helps to accentuate my eyes and lips. I also picked up several new products from Drew Barrymore’s new Flower Makeup Line at my local Walmart in Fall colors to help create 4 Fall Makeup Looks You’ll Love:
1. Flawless Matte Complexion: In my opinion, a great makeup look begins with a flawless complexion. I reserve my bronzer for the Spring and Summer months and opt for a more matte complexion during the winter. To achieve this, I used Flower’s BB Cream, which serves a 4-fold purpose. Not only can you use this lightweight cream to cover imperfections and discolorations, it can be used daily to improve skin dullness, soften and smooth skin and eliminate any unwanted shine. Set with Powder Up, a smooth, lightweight powder that helps you achieve a smooth, even complexion.
2.Smoky Eyes: This is a trend that never really goes out of style, but the latest trend includes blending a variety of colors for a deep smoky eye. I used Flower’s Shadow Play Eyeshadow Quad which features Ginko Biloba extract for soft, supple eyelids. Use the lighter pink shade underneath your eyebrows as a subtle highlight, the purple-gray color on your lids, and blend the two brown shades into your crease. You can also accent your eyes by lining them with On Your Mark’s Liquid Liner.
3. Voluminous Lashes: The longer and fuller your lashes are, the more dramatic your Fall makeup look. Whether you’re looking to add length or volume, Flower’s mascara provides lasting wear without clumps or flakes. I opted for the Lengthening Mascara which includes a 3-way brush for 360 degree lash coverage.
4. Soft, Natural Lip: In the Fall, a bold or a natural lip both work well, depending on the time of day and the occasion. I particularly like the contrast between a bold smoky eye and a soft natural lip but definitely experiment with makeup looks that work for your complexion. Flower’s Sheer Up Lip Tints provide sheer color and shine while moisturizing and hydrating lips.
The entire Flower Makeup Line is made in the US and while the products feel and wear like a professional luxury line, they are priced competitively. I was able to purchase 5 products to complete my Fall Makeup Look for $50 (plus tax).
You can find Drew Barrymore’s exclusive makeup line Flower at your local Walmart or on Walmart.com.
