As a mom, it’s easy to get caught up in the “what ifs.” I worry that my son is going to fall while riding his scooter or that my daughter will get sick while crawling all over our church’s child care room. It’s a struggle to maintain a balance…to avoid being over-protective while fostering my children’s growing autonomy. And while I know that I can’t protect my children from everything, there are steps I can take to make their environment safer.
While motor vehicle injuries are the leading cause of death among children in the U.S., that statistic can be reduced by half if children are placed in age and size-appropriate car seats (CDC). One in four accidents are side impact crashes. Evenflo’s new Momentum 65 DLX Convertible Car Seat features e3 Side Impact Technology, which significantly reduces the forces in side impact crashes through advanced energy absorption and an expanded zone of protection. Evenflo is committed to safety and went beyond government safety standards to develop a car seat that is superior in safety.
After safety, ease of installation tops the list of things I look for in a car seat. My husband often takes our son’s car seat out to transport work equipment, which means he may re-install the car seat several times a week. The Momentum 65 DLX Convertible car seat features SureLATCH connectors (to be used with LATCH), which make installation quick, easy, and most of all, safe. Here is a video demonstrating rear-facing installation (courtesy of Evenflo):
The Momentum 65 can be used from infancy through early childhood (5-40 pounds for rear facing, 20-65 pounds for forward facing). This could feasibly be the only car seat you would need. It’s comfortable (the seat can be reclined in multiple positions), easy to install, and safe.
