Nights out without the kids are a luxury these days, and those days where I spent an hour on my makeup are few and far between. While I’m not the gal that can wake up in the morning and go out without makeup, my routine is simple. A touch of BB Cream and Loose Powder help cover imperfections for a smooth, even complexion. Most days my eyes are accented with a touch of Eyeshadow in browns and neutral colors while a sheer lip gloss or lip butter completes the look.
Since we’re in the midst of the season of love, I thought I’d share an easy date night makeup look featuring Drew Barrymore’s Flower Makeup. Even a date night look doesn’t have to be complicated, and the one I’m showing you today can be recreated in less than 30 minutes. When I go out at night, I like to accentuate my eyes and lips, so this easy tutorial features a shimmery metallic eye with a bold lip.
Every makeup look should begin with a smooth, flawless complexion. I prefer lightweight, overall coverage with spot concealer applied as needed. As I mentioned above, Flower’s BB Cream and Loose Powder are my complexion staples and I use these daily irrespective of whether I’m taking my kids to school during the day or going out to an upscale restaurant at night.
For a shimmery metallic eye, I picked up the Flower Color Play Creme Eyeshadow in Midnight Garden. This creamy eyeshadow can be applied directly on your lids and worn all night without creasing or caking. Creme Eyeshadows tend to wear longer and can be layered with powder shadows to intensify the look. I simply added a bold layer of this shadow to my lids and used a highlight color from the Flower Beauty Shadow Play Eyeshadow Quad applied right beneath my brow line.
One of my favorite but underutilized makeup tips is to line the eyes to make them stand out. Precision is key which is why I’m loving the Eye 2 Eye Marker & Volumizing Mascara. This combination 2-in-1 product includes a felt-tip eye marker on one end and a volumizing mascara on the other. Both products help accentuate the eye for a bold, dramatic look.
To complete my easy date night makeup look, I opted for a bold, velvety lip. I tend to prefer matte looks over shiny or glossy looks, so I picked up the Flower Beauty Kiss Stick Velvet Lip Color in Rosey Garden, perfect for Valentine’s Day. This particularly lipstick hydrates lips and has a volumizing effect while the overall look is a satin matte finish. The pigments are bold and can be layered to intensify the look.
