For the second year in a row, children across the country will celebrate National Princess Week, which highlights the sparkle and wonder of princesses everywhere. This is the first I’ve heard of the celebration, and I am certain my daughter will be excited about an entire week dedicated to princesses.
If you’re LA-centric, why not celebrate with royalty? On April 28th, 2013, the Consulate of the Netherlands, Los Angeles and the United Netherlands Organizations will join together to bring locals and visitors a fantastic celebration in honor of Dutch Queen’s Day. This traditional holiday celebrates the birthday of Dutch Queen Beatrix. This year marks the end of her 30 year reign, so this celebration is particularly meaningful.
Anyone in Southern California is invited to join in the festivities, which include live music, traditional Dutch games, a bounce house, soccer tournaments, and a flea market. Adults and children are encouraged to dress as a prince/princesses but it is not required. Alternately, adults and children over the age of 12 can participate in the Miss Orange pageant so don your best orange attire!
Here are the details for the Queen’s Day Celebration in Los Angeles:
When: Sunday, April 28th, 2013 from 12 pm to 6 pm
Where: Home Depot Center, 18400 S. Avalon Blvd. Carson, CA 90746
Cost: $10 for a regular ticket, $25 for a VIP ticket
