Technology has managed to touch practically every facet of our lives. With a simple voice command, I can stream music, find out the daily weather, and set a cooking timer. From my smart phone, I can heat my home before I arrive or dim the lights downstairs. The smart, connected home, which at one point seemed straight out of an episode from the Jetsons, is now the norm. But with that connectivity comes the threat of cyber attacks. This season, we brought Dojo by Bullguard into our home to help monitor and protect all of our connected devices.

The Growing Threat of Cyber Attacks
A cyber attack can target computer networks, information systems, and/or personal computer devices by hacking into susceptible systems (Wikipedia). The result can range from installing malware which steals data to creating phishing emails to obtain passwords (CSO). Get Cyber Safe lists the full spectrum of common threats and how to protect yourself on the internet. As our world continues to become digitalized, the risk for cyber attacks increases, warranting sufficient protection at home and in the workplace.
Dojo by Bullguard
Dojo by BullGuard is the world’s most comprehensive smart home cybersecurity solution. With all of the connected devices available, including smart alarms, thermostats, baby monitors, smart appliances, lighting, and locks, Dojo was built to protect them all. The devices connects to your network to act as a protective layer between your smart devices and any threats to your network security and privacy. Because Dojo is intuitive, it will learn your devices and find patterns to set up a protective perimeter around your home. By listening to patterns, Dojo protects your home, your data, and your privacy.
While I tend to be tech-savvy, how I am always drawn to devices that are easy to set up. Dojo retails for $199 and includes a movable pebble, a docking station, an AC power adapter, and an Ethernet cable. Once you’ve downloaded the free Dojo App, insert 4 AA batteries into the pebble and connect Dojo to your Wi-Fi Router. One year of service is also included, with additional service $9.99 per month after the first year. Dojo, in conjunction with the app, will continue the set-up. For assistance, contact a member of the Dojo team via phone or email.
Using the Dojo app, you can monitor all of your devices in real-time. The pebble visual indicator correlates with the app notifications and will light green if everything is ok, yellow, if Dojo found something and took care of it, and red, if a breach was blocked and may require your input. Through the app, you can also block unauthorized devices and stay abreast of risk and privacy breaches that Dojo has detected and blocked. The result is Enterprise Grade Security to all of the smart devices connected to your network.
With so many smart devices in our home, I appreciate the security afforded by Dojo. The device is intuitive, easy to set-up, and provides effortless monitoring. Dojo is sleek and stylish and integrates nicely into my home decor. It is the smart security device you need for your home this season.
