I have to admit that I was super excited when Disney acquired the Muppets, because many of my childhood memories are filled with a certain mouse and a certain frog.
Last week, I had the privilege of attending the launch of two new cooking video series on Disney.com and DisneyFamily.com. The Muppets Kitchen With Cat Cora is a series of webisodes created to “inspire and entertain families through cooking and classic Muppet comedy.” Hasty Tasty Cooking Tips With Cat Cora & the Muppets was created for moms and offers “recipes, step-by-step cooking tips and fun family-time ideas.”
Even before children, I wasn’t the savviest chef in the kitchen. The lack of time and motivation requires inspiration and I value mealtime, particularly dinner since it’s the only meal we eat together as a family. I’m always looking for quick, easy, healthy recipes for foods that my children will eat. I very often get into a rut and cook up the same ho-hum meals. I like the fact that the recipes are easy, feasible, and creative. And the webisodes are seriously entertaining…even for this mom who’s still young at heart.
Muppet cooking partner Angelo joins Cat Cora in the kitchen with his quirky cooking habits. Be sure to look for appearances by Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and Gonzo.
The Muppets Kitchen offers theme-based cooking solutions while Hasty Tasty offers step-by-step cooking instructions, specific culinary information, helpful tips, nutritional guidance and advice on how to get kids excited about cooking. The webisodes are relatively short, around 4-5 minutes long which is really ideal for online content.
You can access both series from Disney.com and DisneyFamily.com. Be sure to check out their tips and activities to make cooking time fun time for the whole family, Cat Cora’s recipes, and Muppets-inspired paper crafts.
