Crafting With Kids: Personalized Halloween Treat Containers

Posted by Caryn Bailey Leave a Comment

The pumpkin is decorated, our costumes have been broken in, we’ve got the perfect spooky drink, and we’re almost ready for Halloween! The only thing missing is our treats…or at least a place to put them. This year, I’ve been aspiring to do more crafts with our kids, and thanks to Walmart’s Kids Craft section, it’s easy to recreate fun, simple projects.

Halloween Photo Craft

Whether you’re hosting a Halloween party, or simply need a gift for a friend or family member, these Personalized Halloween Treat Containers are the perfect way to celebrate in a unique, personal way. To start, we visited our local pumpkin patch to take some festive Halloween photos!

Next, we ordered several Halloween Photo Cards from Walmart. The site offers over 60 Halloween-themed designs and cards and most cards are priced at just 40 cents each!

Here are the designs we selected for this project (remember you can add your own sentiment if you’d like):

Halloween Photo Cards

During normal business hours, you can receive your photo cards in just 1 hour. You also have the option of selecting Site-To-Store or Home Delivery if you don’t need your photos right away.

Here is what you’ll need to recreate this simple project:

Materials

Halloween Craft Supplies

4×8 Halloween Photo Greeting Cards with a Matte Finish

Invisible Tape

Cellophane Bags

Cloth-covered wire (I used floral wire from FloraCraft)

Pinking Shears (I picked up a pack of 4 from EK Tools for just $6)

Your favorite treats

Curled Wire

Step 4:

Step 5:

All of the supplies I purchased, including the photo cards was right around $15, and we were able to make several containers. These can be made and handed out as favors, used to decorate for a Halloween party, or simply gift.

I participate in the Walmart Moms program and am compensated for my time and honest opinions.
