This is part of a compensated campaign with Corelle. I was invited to a media event dinnerware sets for review/giveaway were supplied.
I remember that special time when my husband and I were preparing for our wedding…it was full of joy, excitement, and anticipation for our future together. While there is always some stress that comes with planning a wedding, we were looking forward to that new chapter in our lives when we would finally start our own family and begin creating new memories together.
Each of us brought a variety of “things” into our marriage, and interestingly enough for my husband, it was dinnerware. I don’t know the name of the brand, but the set was passed down to him from his grandmother and it held special significance for him as a sign of his coming of age.
This year we’ve spent quite a bit of time organizing our home and inevitably that meant getting rid of items that needed to be upgraded. While quality dinnerware is an investment, meant to last a long period of time, we finally decided that we needed to modernize our everyday plates, bowls and cups. Anticipating that I would be meeting with Corelle, I waited to make a decision since I had heard that the brand was launching a new Boutique line.
Corelle is one of several well-known brands under World Kitchen, LLC, a leading housewares company that also manufactures metal cookware, glass, ceramic and metal bakeware, tabletop products, cutler, and kitchen tools. Some of the company’s stand-out brands include Baker’s Secret, Chicago Cutlery, CorningWare, and Pyrex.
With the serene Pacific Ocean as our backdrop, a few LA and Orange County bloggers sat down with representatives from Corelle to discuss their own memories of Corelle and how the brand has evolved. Many people recalled growing up with the brand and even stated that their grandparents still had Corelle dishes.
Some of the things I personally like about the Boutique collection include it’s durability, stackability and versatility. Corelle’s plates, bowls and cups are chip, scratch, and stain-resistant, which really means they are kid-resistant! Too often I’m afraid to use our “nicer” china because we have small children, but I also don’t enjoy letting our beautiful dishes sit up in a closet never being used. With Corelle’s Boutique collection, we can sit down together as a family without having to worry that one of our children will break a dish.
Space is always a consideration when purchasing dinnerware, particularly if buying complete sets. When compared to leading brands, Corelle stacked up (literally) better than their competitors with regards to space.
Many of our gatherings are informal, so versatility is important. Corelle’s Boutique collection of dinnerware is dishwasher, microwave, AND oven-safe. Additionally, they’re fancy enough to be used for more formal occasions such as a dinner party yet practical enough to pull out for family barbecues.
Because the overarching motif of our home is modern, I chose the Cherish line which features a soft square outline and elegant floral-embossed patterns.
For those who prefer more traditional rounded pieces, the Swept line features natural sculpted embossed patterns. Both 16-piece sets are available at Kohl’s, Macy’s, and online at World Kitchen and come with 60 pieces.
Win It! One of you will win a dinnerware set from Corelle’s Boutique Collection (choice of Cherish or Swept Line). Simple complete the Rafflecopter form and leave a comment with your favorite. Comments will close on June 27th, 2013 at 11:59 PM PST.
