The ability to check the weather, text my mom across the city, access each of my kids’ calendars, and monitor their time online from my smart phone has streamlined the way that I work, multitask, and carry out all of my day-to-day activities. I rely so heavily on technology that I am the girl who pre-ordered the iPhone 8 as soon as Apple announced it. So when Moms LA and Techlicious invited me to check out the latest cool new tech, I new I had to get the inside on time-saving products that can help with organization and efficiency.
Cool New Tech for 2017
- Google Home: Listen to music, control your home’s smart devices, and make hands-free calls with the activated speaker powered by Google Assistant. Google Home can recognize your voice and others (up to six) and assist with everything from managing daily tasks to shopping your favorite retailers. $129
- Tile Pro: Do you misplace your keys? Tile Pro is the answer to keeping track of the most important (and frequently misplaced) items in your life. Simply attach this tiny tracker to your item and use the app to find the Tile it is attached to. If you are within 200 feet of your item, Tile will play a sound to help you find it. If you are outside of that range, the app will tell you where it was last placed. $35 each or $60 for a combo pack of two.
- HumX by Verizon: If you own and drive a vehicle, HumX by Verizon is the smart solution you need to keep you safe on the road. Plug HumX into your vehicle and you will get answers to questions like “why is the check engine light on?” You can also set and receive maintenance reminders so you never miss a tire rotation or oil change and access live help and emergency services if needed. Have a question? HumX can connect you with a certified mechanic who can provide unbiased advice. Parents of teen drivers will love the ability to monitor speed and keep tabs on their driving history. $150 + $15/month for service through Verizon.
- HUAWEI Watch 2: This smartwatch combines the connectivity of a smartphone with smarter living apps and detailed performance coaching features. The watch is designed to look like a classic wristwatch and is made with an integrated antenna and 4G connectivity. What this means is that you can leave your smartphone behind! Use the HUAWEI Watch 2 to respond to calls and text messages, listen to music during your workout, track runs with built-in GPS and monitor heart rate/health metrics. $241.95 (Amazon)
- Cozi Family Organizer: Use Cozi to track your family’s schedules in one place. The shared, color-coded calendar allows each family member to see appointments, practice, sleepovers and more. Cozi can also be used to share shopping lists, to-do lists, recipes, meal plans, family journals and more. - LG Hom-Bot Turbo+ Robotic Vacuum: Streamline your household chores with this robotic vacuum, which features built-in cameras to map your floors and monitor your home. - Anova Precision Cooker: Cook the perfect meal every single time with this wi-fi-enabled precision cooker.
