Contemporary Faucets From Price Pfister *Giveaway*

Posted by Caryn Bailey 271 Comments

This giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by. The winner is dddiva. A huge congrats to her!!!

My husband and I saved for a long time and made many sacrifices, including living with my parents for almost one year, to purchase our very first home.  In today’s economy, that is quite an accomplishment.  There are many joys to owning a home.  We have the freedom to paint our kitchen green and install eco-friendly carpet in our bedrooms.  Every month we know that the money we’re investing is an investment rather than a waste.  With home ownership also comes responsibility.  When I broke our garage door, we were responsible for fixing it and our grass does not get cut if we don’t cut it.

Late last year, I was offered the opportunity to review a faucet from Price Pfister.  This is the kind of review I should have run by my husband, because of course, he was to be the one to install it.  While our home is not old, it’s also not new.  The faucet I chose was to replace our downstairs bathroom faucet…the one guests, friends and family members primarily use.  With that being said, this is the type of project you want completed in one day so as not to pose an inconvenience.  Of course, it didn’t go as smoothly as planned.  I might add that this had nothing to do with the faucet, much to do with the fact that the faucet we were to replace had never been replaced (think impossible to remove) and a little to do with the fact that my husband is a lighting designer and not a plumber.  Might I add that my husband often works long hours, so work on this project had to be completed on the weekends.  Thanks to some much needed assistance from my father, they managed to install one of the most beautiful and functional faucets I’ve ever seen.  I’d love to replace the other two in our upstairs bathrooms…think I should ask the hubby? : )

Price Pfister is an Orange County-based designer and manufacturer of kitchen and bath faucets, fixtures, and accessories.  Each of the company’s products are backed by a lifetime guarantee which covers the finish and the function of the product.  The company offers a wide variety of faucets in styles and finishes. Because our home decor is ultra-modern, we opted for the Contempra faucet in Polished Chrome. I wish I had taken a before picture so you could see the difference between our old faucet and the Contempra.  It gives the bathroom a clean, contemporary feel.

The Contempra collection is “sleek and sophisticated” with “smooth curves and high-arc styling.”  Apart from it’s contemporary look, there are several characteristics that I appreciate from a functional standpoint.  The hot and cold water are controlled by one joystick lever which makes it easy for my son to operate.  The spout rotates, again making it easy for my son to reach.  One of the features I didn’t figure out right away was the drain, which is operated simply by pushing the disc.  Once my husband was able to remove the old faucet (which apparently did not want to come out), he said that installation is quite easy although he did have some help from my father.  The faucet features ceramic disc valving to prevent leaks. Price Pfister was one of the first companies to partner with the EPA WaterSense program and this faucet is EPA WaterSense Certified which means they help reduce water consumption by 30%.  You can view the entire list of water saving faucets on their website.

One of the things we added during installation was a soap dispenser.  Overall, this made for a cleaner look.  It also makes it that much more challenging for my son to play with the soap!

Price Pfister products are available for purchase at Lowe’s, Home Depot, and home improvement retailers nationwide.

Win It! One of you will win a faucet from Price Pfister! The winner will be able to select one of the following:

Kitchen Faucet Options

Avanti Pull-down Kitchen Faucet

Ashfield Pull-down Kitchen Faucet

Bath Faucet Options

Contempra 1-Hole Single Control Lavatory Faucet

Selia Centerset or Widespread Faucet

Ashfield Trough Faucet

Simply leave me a comment with the faucet you’d select if you won and one reason why you like it (one of the features listed on the site).  Comments will close on March 9th, 2011 at 11:59 PM PST.  US Residents only.  Duplicates and comments not including the above information will be disqualified. Comments are moderated. If you don’t see your comment in a reasonable amount of time, send me an email. Bloggers and non-bloggers may enter. I would get the ashfield kitchen pull-down faucet because I like the modern finish on it, and because the thought of ceramic disks to prevent leaking makes me overly excited- the cheapie faucet we have in the kitchen right now leaks around the base a bit. I am bugging dh to replace the sink, faucet and countertops!

I had my hubby run over here and look at this with me and we both agree we like the Ashfield Pull-down Kitchen Faucet. Plus, I asked him if it will work for our kitchen and he said yes. I would love to have a new faucet as the one I have is old and is really too small for the sink.
I didn’t know they were in the OC area! Yay, CA!

Thanks for the giveaway…I think we would go with the Avanti Pull-down Kitchen Faucet because of pull-down faucet feature’s utility in preparing food & cleaning, and the stainless steel finish.

I just recently was engaged and will be moving in with my fiance in a few months. We are in the process of remodeling his old kitchen to get it ready for me when I move in since I love to cook. His faucet is so 80’s and outdated. I would love a pull down faucet for filling pots and easy clean up!
