Traditionally, my husband and I have opted for more experiential type gifts such as weekend getaways, dinners, or pampering, but this Valentine’s Day I’ll be purchasing a wedding band for my husband (it’s ok…he knows!). During one of his work trips, he lost the beautiful, intricately designed ring we personalized and crafted with our jeweler more than 8 years ago. Every time we decided to go out and replace his ring, something else would arise that took financial precedence.
Admittedly, I was sad about the loss, not necessarily because of the money we spent but because of what the ring symbolizes. It was inscribed and had some personal touches such as the fact that it was built out of two rings so that the outside moved around the center band.
Since my husband lost his ring, we’ve perused local jewelry stores in search of an affordable ring we both liked, however, to date, we’ve been unsuccessful in our shopping ventures. When I first heard that Walmart offered an entire bridal line of jewelry, I was surprised. My husband and I have perused a few of our local stores, but found that our best selections were found online. Check out the top contenders:
My husband prefers simple, on-trend styles which is why he really likes the above Men’s Hammered Texture Ring in Stainless Steel. I wouldn’t have immediately thought to purchase a ring from stainless steel but we both think this would be ideal for his line of work and the extensive travel that is part of his job. Titanium is a popular metal used in men’s wedding bands because it is lightweight and superior as far as durability goes. This particular band can be personalized with an engraving on the interior and retails for less than $50.
Because both of the above rings were quite affordable, we decided to at least consider a white gold option. Featuring 14 carat white gold, this band is also polished with gold on the outer area of the ring for a shiny finish.
This month we celebrate love, including romantic love, and I imagine there will be quite a number of proposals and vow renewals.
