As a lover of all-things Cirque, I’m intrigued at the latest production entitled Iris, created exclusively for Hollywood’s iconic Kodak Theatre. The production, which was written and directed by Philippe Decouflé, is a journey through the world of cinema. Here is a brief description from the site:
IRIS conjures up a place between motion and picture, light and sound, that shifts constantly between reality and make-believe, to explore the limitless possibilities of cinema. By combining dance, acrobatics, live video, film footage and interactive projections, the show illustrates both the mechanics of cinema and its extraordinary power to deceive the eye.
The show is perfectly suited to run exclusively in Hollywood…the center of film-making. Preview performances begin July 21st and Iris will premiere on September 25th. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the production’s opening. For more information, just visit the website.
