Cirque Du Soleil KOOZA Is Coming To Los Angeles!

Have I mentioned how much my husband and I like Cirque?  Several years ago they toured in Los Angeles and I saw the show for the first time.  I was hooked.  I vowed I would see as many as I could.  Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of seeing several shows, including my all-time favorite, “O.” (Which by the way is fantastic, particularly since it’s staged in water).

On Friday, October 16th, Cirque Du Soleil will return to Santa Monica with it’s production of KOOZA.  I have never seen this particular show, but this weekend, we’ll get an opportunity to check it out!  Each production is unique with it’s own theme, however, what unites the shows is the incredible artistry and talent displayed on stage.  You will truly be amazed.  I always find myself in awe of the talent on stage.  If you can believe it, the French-Canadian organization has been around 25 years, and started from a group of 20 street performers.  Today, the company boasts 1,000 performing artists.  Right now there are 20 shows in production throughout the world.  Here is a little more information about Kooza, from the site:

KOOZA is a return to the origins of Cirque du Soleil that combines two circus traditions – acrobatic performance and the art of clowning. The show highlights the physical demands of human performance in all its splendor and fragility, presented in a colorful mélange that emphasizes bold slapstick humor.

It’s very possible that I won’t be able to take pictures during the show, but here are a few from the press site you might enjoy!  Tickets are on sale now and performances run from October 16th through November 29th with shows on Tuesdays through Thursdays at 8:00 pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm and Sundays at 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm.  Prices range from $60 to $125 during the week (Children $42 to $87.50) and $65 to $135 on the weekend (Children ages 2-12 $45.50 to $94.50).  Students and seniors are offered special pricing at $54 to $112.50.  You can also purchase a VIP Tapis package which includes the best seats in the house and access to the VIP Suite one hour before the show and during intermission (now that’s the way to go!). Adults are $250 and children ages 2-12 are $175.

Stay tuned after the weekend for my take on KOOZA!
