Cinnabon Snack Bars

Posted by Caryn Bailey 3 Comments

I’ve recently had a wave of strange cravings.  A few weeks ago, I came home from work after having a long, exhausting, emotional day, and asked my husband for some cherry pie.  He is so incredible because at 9pm, he went to the store for some cherry pie!

cinnabonWhen I received an email from Mom Central with an opportunity to try out Cinnabon’s new Snack Bars, I paused. Why did I suddenly have this urgent craving for one of their cinnamon rolls?  I hit the interest button before I even realized what I was doing.  Then jumped in the car, with my son in tow, and we drove all the way to the mall for a Cinnabon cinnamon roll.

All three of us like to “snack.”  In fact, most of my meals lately have been “snacks” or small, frequent meals.  I always strive to keep healthy snacks in the home, and fruit/granola bars are very popular around here.  So when we received the Cinnabon Snack Bars, my son blurted out…”That’s a snack!” since everything rectangular shaped and wrapped is a “snack.” Here is a little more information about the bars from the site:

These snack bars combine the decadence of Cinnabon with a convenient, wholesome bar, proving an unexpectedly indulgent treat.  Once you’ve experienced the delicious brown sugar and cinnamon filling and cream cheese frosting, there’s no going back to the usual ho-hum snack. And, at 150 calories, Kellogg’s Cinnabon Snack Bars offer up an indulgence you don’t have to feel guilty about!

Honestly…they taste really good.  They’re soft, moist, and sweet, with just the right amount of cinnamon.  They’re even better if you microwave them just a bit to get them warm.  It’s a great alternative to a cinnamon roll (which definitely has more fat and calories).  My only complaint is that they contain high fructose corn syrup.  If you do some research at the grocery store, you’ll find more packaged foods than not with this ingredient on the package.  So while I think these are great for the occasional indulgence, I don’t necessarily know that I’d eat them every day.  Everything in moderation right?

Profuse thanks to Mom Central for this review opportunity.

I liked your review. They do sound yummy.

I have had this HighFructoseCornSyrup confrontation all over the grocery store. Even in bread and especially with juices!!!
