Every year, Universal Studios Hollywood brings joy to the local community through its Christmas in Spring event. In partnership with M.E.N.D. (Meet Each Need With Dignity), Universal Studios Hollywood employee volunteers spent the day touching the lives of over 16,000 families living in poverty in the San Fernando Valley.
Christmas in Spring at Universal Studios Hollywood
This year, Universal Studios Hollywood hosted its 27th annual Christmas in Spring community outreach event in Los Angeles. Families supported by M.E.N.D. enjoyed appearances from popular characters including the Minions, Puss in Boots, King Julian, Sponge Bob, Scooby Doo and Shaggy, and Santa Claus. The event also included custom-prepared food, carnival games, face painters, gifts, and a live DJ.
M.E.N.D. (Meet Each Need With Dignity)
The LA-based, volunteer-initiated organization takes a holistic approach to poverty by providing basic human needs. With the goal of helping individuals achieve self-reliance, all members receive education and job skills training while contributing to society. M.E.N.D. provides stability and dignity through emergency food, clothing, shelter, and medical care. At present, it is the largest poverty agency in the Valley.
Discover a Star Foundation
