Last year, our family visited Knott’s Merry Farm for the first time during the holiday season and it brought back childhood memories of visiting the park with my parents. Having grown up in Southern California, we often took recreational and educational field trips to the park, but I can’t ever remember seeing Knott’s during the holidays. There is something incredibly beautiful about this particular season when the lights are on, the tree is trimmed, and the park is decorated for Christmas.
This year, the festivities begin right after Thanksgiving and run through January 5th. Here is a brief overview of what you can expect this year at Knott’s Merry Farm!
For the kids
In Camp Snoopy, the Peanuts gang invite children of all ages to sing and dance in their new show titled Lucy’s Wish List. Snoopy’s Magical Nights of Lights will also marvel guests as they light the winter nighttime sky to the sound of Christmas jingles!
For the whole family
Once again, Knott’s will showcase performances of their famous ice show, It’s Christmas, Snoopy! at the Charles M. Schulz Theatre and a live performance of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol/ O.Henry’s A Gift of the Magi in the historic Bird Cage Theatre. In between shows, rides, and attractions, take a stroll through Knott’s Christmas Crafts Village in Ghost Town.
New for 2013
This year, the Wilderness Dance Hall in Ghost Town will house Santa Claus! Families can share their wish lists and take a photo, enjoy Santa’s homemade cookies, a sundae bar, hot chocolate, winter wine, and craft beer tasting. While in Ghost Town, guests can also ride the new Engine 41, a vintage railcar transformed for the holiday season.
With a host of festive new attractions, live entertainment, and a park all dressed up for the holidays, Knott’s Merry Farm is a joyous way to make Christmas memories with your family.
And if you’re looking to give the gift of Knott’s Berry Farm all year long, the park is currently selling 2014 Season Passes starting at just $78. If you purchase before the end of the year, you’ll receive one free visit during the 2013 season. Additional information can be found on their website.
