Can you believe that it’s been more than 50 years since Peyo created The Smurfs? What began as comic books is now a global phenomenon! In anticipation of The Smurfs 2 opening in theaters on July 31st, The Grove, in partnership with Sony Pictures Animation will host a celebration in honor of Global Smurfs Day. This free, fun-filled family event will feature a host of Smurftastic activities to celebrate the birthday of Peyo and the legend he left behind.
Here is what you can expect this Saturday at The Grove:
What: Local families will have an opportunity to interact with The Smurfs, play the latest video game, sample Menchie’s Smurfberry frozen yogurt, and get a look inside the 100% electric Smurf-ified DASH cars. Neil Patrick Harris will stop by and the U.S. Forest Service and Ad Council’s Discover the Forest campaign will be present to encourage families to get outside to experience the beauty and wonder of nature. The day will conclude with an evening outdoor screening of The Smurfs.
When: Saturday, June 22nd from 11 am to 2 pm. Note: The screening will take place at 8 pm.
