One of my favorite quotes in Disney Pixar’s Cars 3 occurs four months after Lighting McQueen suffers a violent, career-ending crash. As he is watching footage of a crash that ended the career of his mentor Doc Hudson, he realizes that he does not want to endure the same fate. “I decide when I’m done.”

Cars 3 is the third installment in Disney Pixar’s automotive-centric film franchise. The film tells the story of an “older,” more career-established McQueen, now immersed in a new generation of racers who are boosting their performances with technology. These next generation racers are no match for older racers, who find themselves abandoned by sponsors and forced into retirement. McQueen’s latest rival is Jackson Storm, an arrogant rookie racer who is on a winning streak. During the final race of the season, as McQueen is set to overtake Jackson Storm, he loses control, resulting in a devastating rollover crash.

Cars 3 initially appears to be McQueen’s comeback story. He enlists the help of young race technician Cruz Ramirez, who he learns once aspired to be a racer. As the two train for McQueen’s reentry into the racing world, he realizes that Ramirez is a skilled racer with significant potential. Inspired by the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and motivated by Ramirez’s determination to win, McQueen proves that #95 ‘s racing days are not over yet.

Cars 3 in Theaters

As the third film in the Cars franchise, I admittedly went in with very little expectations. Disney Pixar has a track record for creating beautifully animated, affective films, and I knew that I would enjoy it. But I was pleasantly surprised by the film’s messages of female empowerment, overcoming failure, and believing in yourself. I walked out of the theater thinking that perhaps this was the best film in the threequel.

We headed to Downtown Disney to preview the film during the week of release and packed several snacks, including popcorn and Juicy Juice juice boxes. We really try to limit our intake of sugary drinks like soda, so packing these juices was ideal. As a mom, I feel good about the fact that my kids are drinking 100% juice in flavors that they enjoy.

  61. My kids will drink any of them but my sons favorite is the Berry and my daughters favorite is the fruit punch!
