I’m often asked what I’ve had to give up in order to live a life with a mind towards the environment.
Does that paraben-free shampoo leave your hair dry and unmanageable?
Do your botanical cleaning products actually remove tough dirt and disinfect your home?
Don’t you miss “real” food?
These are just a handful of questions I’ve been asked over the years. Our conscience decision to become purposeful about the products we use in and around our home and the foods we consume began when I was pregnant with our first child. It was born out of our desire to not only create a healthy environment for our children, but to be mindful about our own carbon footprint so that my children will grow up in a planet that has not become devoid of it’s beauty by our actions.
Five years ago, I struggled to find hair and skin care products that were effective…cleaning products that held up to their conventional counterparts…natural, good-for-you foods that were pleasant to consume.
Today, there is no need for families to have to sacrifice style and effectiveness for sustainability.
Last week I spent three days with Toyota and a handful of like-minded brands working to provide products that are green and chic. I can’t wait to tell you more about the trip, but for now, here is a video Toyota created to highlight it’s first ever Eco-Driven Event:
No compensation was received for this post. I was invited to a media event and all travel expenses were provided by Toyota.
