As a child, one of my favorite mealtime memories involved eating pancakes, waffles, and egg dishes for dinner. “Brinner” was always exciting and often broke up the monotony of our regular dishes. Unlike lunch or dinner, I often struggle to decide whether I want a savory dish, such as a Spinach and Feta Frittata or something sweet like Belgium Waffles.
When I was first introduced to Bruxie, I decided that it was the perfect solution for people like me, who want the best of both! On Tuesday, April 23rd, the gourmet eatery will open its fifth Orange County location in Huntington Beach. The hallmark of this casual dining locale is a light, crisp, yeasty Belgium waffle used to dream up sweet and savory waffle sandwiches.
My first “taste” of Bruxie was during a mom’s morning out with OC Mom Blog. From a simple but delicious Cheesy Bruxie to the more elaborate Smoked Salmon & Dill Cream Cheese Bruxie, the restaurant offers delicious waffle sandwiches made fresh with a gourmet touch.
Each of the five locations feature more than a dozen sweet and savory waffle sandwiches along with fresh salads, locally produced old-fashioned cane sugar sodas, real Wisconsin frozen custard, shakes, sundaes, and floats. Despite the upscale menu, nothing is priced over $10, making it an affordable breakfast, lunch, or dinner indulgence. In addition to the restaurant’s expansive menu, the venue offers seasonal sandwich and shake specials, some of the most popular being Carolina BBQ Pulled Pork, Braised Beef Short Rib, and Philly Cheesesteak Bruxie Waffle Sandwiches.
Unique to Huntington Beach, this newest location will offer the first “Bruxie Streetside,” a walk-up window for shaks, floats, desserts, and beverages.
Here are some photos to give you a sneak peek at what the new location will look like:
